When we used to live in Sharjah, Bee’ah recycling stations used to be integral part of our life. We used to recycle paper, plastic, tin regularly & sincerely…thanks to Beeah!
Bee’ah is a Arabic word for environment! The movement Beeah started in emirate of Sharjah for environment is really appreciable.
When you will enterSharjah specially after Sharjah city center, you will start noticing waste recycling centers by Bee’ah on the side of roads. These recyclers facilitate to store paper, glass, plastic separately. All these segregated waste is collected and send to waste recycling plant based in Al Saj’ah, Sharjah. Bee’ah offers complete waste management. They have range of street cleaning, waste collection & management products under Tandeef services. They also do public awareness by launching some campaigns & arranging seminar.
I visited Bee’ah stand in biodiversity conference, their enthusiasticemployees gave me above information & gifted a very beautiful cotton bag. I loved the quote painted on the bag from Bee’ah, “We care, Do you?”
Hi Amruta, I used to live in Sharjah too. However i live in Dubai now, and believe it or not, recycling options in Dubai are limited. I make a trip to festival city once in a few months for recycling stuff albeit i dont generate as much these days. And i rarely bring home a plastic bag as i carry my own cloth bags for fruit & veggie weighing counters. Wish we had easily accessible options like Beeah, in Dubai. I also find it difficult to recycle dead batteries and have an old samsung tablet that doesnt work. But etisalat… Read more »

Hi Amruta. I have been reading your blogs here from the past few days and really appreciate your efforts towards sustainability! I am really concerned about plastic pollution and have been trying from the past 2 years to reduce/ reuse n recycle plastic in our house and advice family and friends to do the same. The tips you have given in your blogs are very helpful. Thank you and hope to see our earth cleaner and greener soon!
