Sustainability Tribe is delighted to announce our this year’s Earth Hour Eco-event! This year’s Earth Hour is on 25th March, so don’t forget to switch off the lights from 8.30 to 9.30! This is not first-time Sustainability Tribe is organizing an event to celebrate Earth Hour, in 2015 we organized an Earth Hour Community Event. But this year I wanted to give my readers some natural experience, that why we selected morning time for our Earth Hour 2017 celebration, a few days after actual Earth Hour. Before I tell you more about our Earth Hour 2017 event; watch this video of me sharing my green goals of this year, the local chapter of WWF; EWS-WWF asked me to share it with my readers. Please go ahead, use your social media power & share your green goals of the year too!
Now let me tell you why I selected mangrove experience for our Earth Hour 2017 event. Mangroves are UAE’s most important ecosystems, but sadly very few people know about them! I would recommend to first read about mangroves in UAE in this post! Most of the emirates of UAE are blessed with mangroves, luckily enough during our 7 emirates trips or other outdoor trips I could visit most of the mangroves! But Mangroves created a special place in my heart when I volunteered for mangrove plantation event at EMEG reserve 2 years back. Read here my experience and what I learned during hours I spent at Mangroves.
This year we are bringing you one of a kind environmental volunteering opportunity in a protected reserve, where you can get up close with beautifully unspoiled mangroves, learn more about them and even take part in cleaning up the mangroves. Don’t worry it’s not rubbish cleaning! Your kids of all ages can take part only thing is you need to watch out for them. My 4-year-old is going to join me, he is already doing clean up at the beach with me and I think it’s a great opportunity for all the kids to get aware about most important Natural system of the country where they are growing up!
